Professor LIU, born in March, 1964 in Jinan, Shandong Province, is in charge of affairs related to scientific research, industry-academia cooperation, university journal, Research Institute of Science and Technology and university-holding companies of Hefei University of Technology.
Professor LIU graduated from Shandong University with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, and later received both his Master’s and PhD degree in Hefei University of Technology. He was a visiting scholar at CAD Open Lab of Institute of Computing Technology of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) from 1996 to 1998, and working on Postdoctoral Program at Hefei Institute of CAS from 1999 to 2000. He was enlisted by CAS as a scientist in “Hundred Talents Program” from 2001 to 2004. Professor LIU went to Illinois Institute of Technology as a visiting scholar with government funding. Before his appointment as HFUT Vice President in June, 2012, he was the dean of School of Computer and Information and Director of Research Center of Key Industrial Monitoring Technologies, Ministry of Education in HFUT.
With visualization and cooperative computing as his research focus, Professor LIU has been in charge of many national scientific research programs, such as programs supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China(NNSFC), the Funds for International Cooperation and Exchange of NNSFC and the National Hi-tech R&D Program (863 Program). He has published over 100 papers in core international academic journals. Professor LIU is the proud holder of 8 National Invention Patents, 1 Utility Model Patent and has registered over 10 times for software copyright.
He also serves as Member of the China Computer Federation (CCF), Deputy Director of the CAD/CG Committee and the Cooperative Computing Committee of CCF, General Secretary of the Computer Application Federation, China Instrument and Control Society and Member of the China Association for System Stimulation.
As an expert enjoying special government allowances of the State Council, Professor LIU is also on the editorial board of Journal of Computer-Aided Design and Computer Graphics, Journal of System Stimulation, Journal of Graphics and Journal of HFUT.
