Hefei University of Technology is directly under the Ministry of Education National Key University, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Industry and Anhui Provincial Government to build colleges and universities.

The school was founded in 1945, and in 2005, the school entered thenational key construction university of "211 Project". In 2009, it was included in the national "985 Project" innovation platform of superior disciplines to build a college program, and in 2017 entered the ranks of "double first-class" colleges and universities in the country.
