Professor LIU, born in July, 1963 in Baoji, Shaanxi Province, is in charge of logistics and infrastructure of Hefei University of Technology.
Professor LIU obtained his Bachelor’s Degree from Shaanxi University of Technology in 1985 and later a Master’s Degree from Shandong University of Technology (now Shandong University) in 1990, both in mechanical engineering. Upon graduation, he worked as a teacher and scientific researcher in mechanic manufacture at Shaanxi University of Technology. He began to work in School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering at Hefei University of Technology in 1993 and won a special promotion to become a Professor in 1995. In the same year, he started to work for his doctoral degree in the University. He was a visiting scholar in City University of Hong Kong in 2000. In 2007, he was appointed as PhD supervisor, Dean of School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering and Vice President of HFUT.
Professor LIU advocates research endeavors that are oriented towards theories and methodologies of green design for electromechanical products, green manufacturing technology, techniques and equipments of recycling of waste electronic products, analysis of recycling and remanufacturing automobile products, principles and tools of metal cutting and low-carbon technologies of metal molding equipments. He has been in charge of or participated in over 40 provincial and national academic programs sponsored by the Natural Science Foundation of Anhui Province, the Supporting program of the “10th Five-Year Plan” and the“11th Five-Year Plan”, the National Hi-Tech R & D Program of China (863 Program), the State Key Program of National Natural Science of China, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, etc. .
He has published over 150 papers in national and international journals, 30-plus of which are cited by SCI, EI and ISTP. He has also published 8 monographs including Green Design and Manufacturing and Dry Machining Technology and Application. As the State Council Expert for Special Allowance, Professor LIU has been granted with many academic awards such as State-Level Teaching Award, National Science and Technology Progress Award, Award for Mechanical Science and Technology of China, Award for Technology Inspection by General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of China, etc..
Professor LIU also serves in several academic organizations. He is Executive Member and Assistant Secretary-General of the Anhui Society of Mechanical Engineering, Senior Member of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society (CMES), Member of the Chinese Mechanical Design Institute of CMES, Deputy Director of the Association of Modern Design Theories and Methodologies of CMES and Member of the Chinese Remanufacturing Institute of CMES.
Professor LIU is also in charge of General Affairs Department, University Hospital, College of Continuing Education, and Hefei Gongda Ploytechnical College of HFUT.
