LI Jiandong,a native of Funing, Jiangsu Province, was born in October 1962. He is now the member of the Standing Committee of HFUT Party Committee, Vice President, Professor and PhD Supervisor of HFUT.
Professor Li graduated from Xidian University majoring in radio communication in 1982 and received his Master's degree in 1985 and PhD degree in 1990. In September 1997, he was appointed Dean of the School of Telecommunication Engineering, Xidian University. From January 2002 to January 2003 he was a visiting scholar of Cornell University, USA. From December 2006 to 2012, he served as the Standing Deputy Dean of the Graduate School of Xidian University. He was appointed the member of the Standing Committee of Xidian University Party Committee in March 2010, and Vice President of Xidian University in June 2012. In May 2019, he took a new post as the member of the Standing Committee of HFU Party Committee and Vice President of HFUT.
Professor Li’s main research interests are broadband mobile communication and self-organizing network. He has hosted major 863 projects the National High Technology Research and Development Program("863"Program), major projects of the National Natural Science Foundation. Professor Li won two 2nd Prizes of National Technology Invention Awards, six provincial and ministerial awards for science and technology progress. He has been in charge of the setting and implementation of four national standards for Wireless Local Area Network. Professor Li has published 5 monographs and textbooks and more than 80 papers in domestic core journals. Professor Li has been granted with many academic awards. He was named as an outstanding expert of the Ministry of Electronics in 1996, and an outstanding individual with important contributions of 863 project. In 2002, Professor Li was awarded the "Young Teachers Award" of the Ministry of Education. In 2004, he was selected as the first batch of national candidates for the " New Century Talents Project ". In 2007, he was awarded the National Outstanding Youth Fund. In 2008, Professor Li was named Distinguished Professor of "Yangtze River Scholars", and in 2009, he was granted the national title of “Outstanding Individual in Education”.
Professor Li is the fellow of China Institute of Communications and Chinese Institute of Electronics, Senior Member of IEEE. He also serves in several academic organizations. He is the expert of the major special group of the new generation of broadband wireless mobile communication network, head of the Working Group on Broadband Wireless IP Technical Standards of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and member of the disciplinary appraisal group of the Academic Degree Committee of the State Council.
