ZHENG Lei Vice President
ZHENG Lei, a native of Hefei, Anhui Province, was born in January, 1975. He is now a research professor, Ph.D. supervisor at Hefei University of Technology. Vice President of HFUT
Professor ZHENG graduated from the Department of Physics of the University of Science and Technology of China in 1995. He received his master degree in 1997 and doctorate in 1999. He has been a post-doctoral scholar at Nanjing University from 1999 to 2001. From 2001 to 2011 he successively worked at the Virginia University, the University of Cambridge, the University of Sheffield and the University of Oxford to conduct his research. Professor ZHENG was appointed vice dean of the School of Biology and Food Engineering of HFUT and Huangshan Scholar Distinguished Professor in 2011. He has served as dean of the School of Medical Engineering of HFUT since 2012 and director of the Office of Scientific R&D of HFUT since 2015. Vice President of HFUT since December 2019
The major research areas of Professor ZHENG are food safety analysis and detection, intestinal nutrition and health research, as well as interdisciplinary research of material science and life science. He presided over a list of national key research and development projects such as "Research on the Identification and Prevention and Control Technology of Hazardous Substances in Grain, Oil and Food Supply Chain ". He won one ministerial and provincial level science and technology award as the PI of the project, participated in the preparation and revision of 6 national standards and published than 100 papers in SCI journals.
Professor ZHENG currently serves as president of the Society of Chromatographic Analysis, Anhui Province, deputy chief expert of the Research System of Agricultural Ecology and Quality Safety in Anhui Province, the member of the committee of CSCB-CSBR (Chinese Society for Biological Rhythms-Chinese Society for Cell Biology), the member of the leading expert committee of the sampling and monitoring of formula food for special medical purposes / special diet food of the State Food and Drug Administration (CFDA), member of the editorial advisory board of journals like Science & Technology Review, Food Science, Science and Technology of Food Industry, member of academic committee of provincial and ministerial level key laboratories.
