On the morning of February 23, 2018, Anhui Science and Technology Awards Conference was held in Hefei. Hefei University of Technology (HFUT) won 49 awards, including 1 first prize of the Natural Science Award; and 5 first prizes, 20 second prizes and 23 third prizes of the Science and Technology Progress Award.

“Theory and Method of Collaborative Analysis in Visual Media”, led by Professor Wang Meng from School of Computer and Information of HFUT, won the first prize of 2017 Anhui Natural Science Award. The research was conducted jointly by HFUT as the principal research institution of the project and University of Science and Technology of China. After nine years of research, the team has made breakthroughs in three core domains of visual media—expression collaboration, association collaboration and semantic collaboration, which helps developing Collaborative Analysis Theory of Visual Media, and has promoted the development of multimedia information processing discipline.

“Research and Application of Key Technology in Intelligent Mobile Equipment System Integration” led by Professor Zi Bin from School of Mechanical Engineering of HFUT won the first prize of 2017 Anhui Science and Technology Progress Award. The research was conducted jointly by HFUT as the principal research institution of the project, Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group Corp.,Ltd., Xidian University and so on. After more than 10 years of collaborative research, the team has made breakthroughs in key technologies of integrated design, intelligent control and dynamic monitoring and has attained a series of innovative achievements.

Meanwhile, HFUT, as the co-research institution, won four first prizes of Anhui Science and Technology Progress Award. “Research and Application of Natural Cooling/Vapor Compression Compound Refrigeration Technology” and other nine achievements of HFUT won the second and third prizes of Anhui Science and Technology Progress Award.
