Li Yanxiang, senior student from School of School of Instrument Science and Opto-electronics Engineering won the finalist award with his work Watchman at the 1st Chinese College Students Micro Film Contest and was invited to the awarding ceremony at Communication University of China in Beijing.
The script of the movie is rolled out in the memory and narrative of the three main characters – Wang Menglu, Li Tianyu and the boss of the flower shop. With Montage approaches, the plot spreads out on whether the character Li Tianyu really exists or not with the carrier of Epipremnum aureum planted by Wang Menglu.
The Chinese College Students Micro Film Contest is a large-scale national film contest jointly sponsored by Committee of the Communist Youth League, Organizing Committee of Asia Micro Film Festival, China Television Artists Association, China Central Newsreels Corporation Communication University of China and Guangdong Radio Television.
The contest aims to discover innovative talents of micro film and pool social resources to support their innovation and creativity, so as to spur the rapid and sound development of China’s micro film industry.
With two sections of scripts and film, the contest received 260 scripts and 560 works since it inaugurated on May 10, 2014.
