38 overseas students from HFUT attended the 11th International Mountaineering Festival in the Yellow Mountain on Nov. 16, 2015, hitting the record in both the number of participants and the performance.

Three foreign students from HFUT won the top three in foreign men’s race.

2,530 climbers across the world came to the Yellow Mountain to compete in this event, including 241 foreign athletes from 66 countries, an all-time record for the number of participating countries.

The mountaineering festival also marks the 7th Anhui Cultural Exchange Festival for Overseas Students. With the theme of “Mountain, River and Culture in Anhui”, it was intended to expose overseas students to the natural landscape and cultural traditions of Anhui Province so that they can better adjust themselves to the culture in Anhui and China at large. Under the organization of Anhui Department of Education and Anhui Steering Committee on Overseas Students Education, overseas students from various universities in Anhui visited Xidi, an ancient village at the foot of the Yellow Mountain, for a taste of Anhui culture and experienced many other culture activities.
