On the afternoon of July 25th, Industry/Academia Partnering Meeting between Municipal Government of Xuancheng and HFUT was held in Room 102 of Administrative Building on Xuancheng Campus. Mayor of Xuancheng Han Jun and HFUT President Xu Zongwei, Vice President Liu Xiaoping and Zhu Dayong attended the meeting chaired by Vice Mayor Zhou Jingjun.

Mayor Han Jun addressed the meeting, praising HFUT’s commitment to serve local development after it set foot in Xuancheng. The meeting, a continuation of last year’s, will provide new impetus for the development of economy, science and technology of Xuancheng and create a wider platform for the local enterprises to develop, on which HFUT teachers will also benefit from its broad prospect in teaching and research. Han Jun hoped that enterprises concerned should take specific and concrete actions to stimulate enterprise innovation by applying HFUT’s scientific and technological achievements into practice. He also hoped that HFUT Student Practice Bases support the school to organize practice and probation for HFUT students. Finally Han emphasized that the municipal government of Xuancheng attaches great importance to cooperation with HFUT, and would continue to promote the construction and development of Xuancheng Campus.

In the speech, President Xu Zongwei pointed out that Industry/Academia Partnering Meeting is a perfect example of integration of teaching, research and production. The university sticks to the principle of establishing application-oriented research culture and promotes transformation of its S&T achievements. Bearing this in mind, the school should fulfill its four duties in Xuancheng. Firstly, HFUT should take full advantage of local resources and give full play to them by applying new technology and process based on energy-saving and eco-friendly principle. Secondly, it will design and plan high-tech projects in collaboration with local government to facilitate the operation of the projects in Xuancheng. Thirdly, it will promote more relevant enterprises to run their business in Xuancheng to boost its economy. Fourthly, by forging a better Xuancheng Campus, HFUT builds up a talent pool for the city. He hoped that teachers concerned should be committed to promoting the development of local economy by staying close to the needs of the city and the enterprises.

At the meeting, President Xu and Mayor Han unveiled Wanjiang Poultry Research Institute of Anhui, followed by project-signing by representatives from two sides. HFUT experts signed cooperation agreements on intergration of teaching, research and production with relevant departments and 16 enterprises of Xuancheng.

Vice director of Administrative Committee of Xuancheng Campus, Xiao Su, signed agreements on building student practice base with 11 enterprises in Xuancheng including Huafeng Machinery Company, Ltd. The authorization was granted by President Xu Zongwei.

The meeting was chaired by vice Mayor Zhou Jingjun. Other attendees included vice presidents of HFUT Liu Xiaoping in charging of S&T research and Zhudayong in charging of Xuancheng Campus administration, relevants heads from Xuancheng Campus and Institute of Science and Technology of HFUT, Xuancheng government departments and local enterprises.

After the meeting, the school released its research findings and achievements. Experts and representatives from enterprises had discussions on further cooperation.
