The 5th-generation gas-engine formula car and the 2nd-generation electric formula were released at the press release on September 24 at HFUT. Vice President Liu Zhifeng, relevant parties from like School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, Innovation Academy, HFUT Youth League and sponsors attended the event.

The press release kicked off with the remarks by Vice President Liu on his congratulation to HFUT Racing team, and was followed by the remarks by other attendants from School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, Innovation Academy and sponsor – Anhui JEE Automation.

The 5th-generation formula car is lighter in weight with stronger smoother power take-off than its predecessor. It has a more flexible steering system for suspension and the efficient paddle-shifting system would save the driver’s time dramatically. The streamlined body in yellow and black, along with the aerodynamic body parts, has improved the visual impact of the car and its performance in curve.

The two new cars were unveiled together with the leaders and the representatives of the HFUT Racing team, marking their setout on Formula Student China 2014.
