The logo for the 70^thanniversary of Hefei University of Technology was unveiled recently after rounds of preliminary selections and online voting for nearly a year since June 2014. The work by a first –year postgraduate student was chosen as the logo among over 70 entries.

Number “7” and number “0” are the main body of the logo, with the latter placed to the right side of “7”, resembling the Chinese character of 工(technology). The “7” is designed as the racing field and the “0” a rolling wheel, signifying HFUT’s enterprising spirit and unrelenting strength. The inner ring of the “0” is modified as the gear embedded in the university emblem, highlighting the technical background of HFUT and improving its uniqueness.

The silhouette of people joining hands together symbolizes the HFUT faculties and students who have devoted their lives to the advancement of the university.
