The ceremony marking the opening of construction of HFUT Research Institute of Intelligent Manufacturing Technology was launched at the project site of the 1st session on August 14.

Wu Cunrong, member of the Standing Party Committee of Anhui Province and Party Secretary of Hefei, announced the official opening of the construction of the research institute and other 15 major industrial programs in Hefei High and New-Tech Park. Officials from Hefei Municipal Government and Municipal Party Committee, HFUT President Xu Zongwei, Vice President and Director of HFUT Research Institute of Intelligent Manufacturing Technology Liu Zhifeng and Director of 38th Research Institute of CETC (China Electronic Technology Group) Chen Xinping jointly attended the groundbreaking ceremony.

The founding of HFUT Research Institute of Intelligent Manufacturing Technology is a follow-up after HFUT signed the Strategic Partnership Agreement on Jointly Building HFUT Research Institute of Intelligent Manufacturing Technology by Hefei Municipal Government and HFUT. The research institute is set to build 4 centers, namely Intelligent Manufacturing Technology Center, Product Assessment and Analysis Service Center, Product Design and Service Center and Public Computing Service Center with the support of government funds and government-industry-university collaboration.

Upon completion, the research institute will assume 7 functions: talents cultivation and introduction, R&D of key technologies, technological achievement nurturing and transformation, quality assessment, product design, public computing and think tank for industrial development. With a whole range of technology R&D center, incubation center, test center, high-end talents training center, public service center as well as corresponding facilities, HFUT Research Institute of Intelligent Manufacturing Technology is expected to be the engine driving the development of intelligent manufacturing industry in China.
